Your Pet in Sri Lanka
When relocating your precious pets to other countries, certain destination countries might require your pets to be microchipped. EU member countries and many other countries in the world would require your pet to be implanted with a 15 digit ISO transponder for identification purposes.
The 15 digit ISO pet microchip is the world standard, and if you are taking your pet to an EU country and your pet has a nine or ten digit microchip (i.e. AVID), your pet will need new a 15 digit ISO microchip or you will need to carry your own microchip scanner.
We at Pet Express use the internationally accepted (Approved by all EU countries) microchips with the ISO Standard 11784 or Annex A to ISO standard 11785.
Rabies Serology Test
Rabies Neutralising Antibody Titre Test (RNATT) in Sri Lanka
When relocating your precious pets to other countries, certain destination countries might require the pet to have a Rabies Serology Test (Rabies Neutralising Antibody Titre Test / RNATT) done at an EU or OIE approved laboratory. If you are specifically traveling to an EU Country, a Rabies Serology test for your precious dog or cat is mandatory. Furthermore there are many other countries in the world which requires a Rabies Serology test done on the pet before entering the said destination country.
All the countries which require a Rabies Serology Test done, requires a Rabies Antibody Titre of higher than 0.5 IU/ml. For pets entering EU countries, the Rabies Serology Test must be done at an EU approved blood testing laboratory.
Through our partner veterinary practices, we will collect the blood sample, separate the serum and we will send the serum sample to an EU approved lab or OIE approved Lab based on the requirement and carry out the test.
You can either bring your pet to our veterinary practice to draw the blood sample, or we can simply send our mobile veterinary team to your residence to draw the blood sample at your convenience.
